Mami Wata is best explained simply as an Afrikan Spirit. Though she can also be described as all living things, in all things, the medium between all things, the passage to and from things... let me say this. She is the Universal Solvent. Each person who has a Mami Wata spirit will come to know her uniquely. There is a universal Mami Wata just as there are personal Mami Watas who come through a specific lineage. Having Mami Wata as my Head and being her Priestess shows me the world through her lense- how I've come to understand myself, my path, the greater picture of all life, death and beyond is all a tribute to what Mami Wata is.

Mami Wata is honored and revered as the spirit who assisted our ancestors amidst the transatlantic slave trade and carried our spirits, memories, and traditions for us.

Mami Wata is purity, refinement, motion, stillness, depth, surface, chaos, order, timing, pace, rhythm, dance, song, story, life, death, love, abundance, fertility, creativity, completion.

My logo is a blue colored twin-tailed siren Mami Wata bird. It has Afrikas continent shape on its chest/wing with a blue lotus stem growing/connected to it and the flower held at its beak.

I created this to symbolize the integration of swimming the depths below (twin tailed siren) in the seas and the heights of soaring the skies (heavenly waters). It also symbolizes the afrikan heart of this space which is a link to the Mami Wata spirit and a tribute to how my connection with my roots has guided me to walk in and fulfill my purpose. The Afrikan heart is a bridge, as it is connected with the wing in my symbol, it also symbolizes rising thanks to our roots and the rise of pan-africanism (unity, healing, restoration, and love amongst all our people).

The animal spirit of the bird is a symbol of song, diversity, primality, direction, and divine oversight

Nyame is the God of the Akan people of Ghana. The name Nyame means "the one who sees and knows all things" Nyame is often grouped with Nyankopan (source of wisdom/great ancestor) and Odomankoma (infinite creator)

So glad you asked! To me, Afrika (beyond a geographical location) is the Motherland. It is the birthplace of my spiritual origin and connection to source. It is the home of many traditions which guide me through life and anchor me in my purpose. When I use the word afrika- think resilience, natural living, wholistic living, open heartedness, free mindedness, liberation, celebration, community, love, strength and wealth of the soul.

The mission of Mami Wata Sanctuary is to pour into the creation of a sovereign sanctuary- to me, this means living in sustainable harmony with the land. Providing a stable, safe, wholistic world with education programs, birthing centers, gardens and apothecaries, and a close-knit community of individuals who are in alignment with natural living.

Short answer? Anybody who feels like they've come home when they've entered the space!

The divination services Siren Song and Spirit Scribe that I offer are unique to the Mami Wata Messenger Divining of Mami Wata Sanctuary. I have never seen them offered or preformed as divinations anywhere- I was guided and taught how to provide these as divining services by my spiritual guides and my Ori/Inner Spirit/Personal Divinity.

I also offer divination that is traditionally recognized, like cowrie shell and bone castings. As well as dowsing rod divining. You may not see all of these available yet, but in due time they will be! You can also feel free to contact me to inquire.

When I hold an intuitive intake call with someone for a custom, we begin our co-creative journey.
